“Solar Eclipse” Print by Yuri Schwedoff

We were attracted to this piece, done by Kyrgyzstani-born Russian-raised digital artist Yuri Schwedoff, because of the realistic depiction of what people will look like during the next eclipse. It conveys some of the emotions present during eclipses.

During the awe-inspiring moment everything goes silent. People are transfixed to the sky. Darkness enshrouds the landscape. Children will casually begin mounting rooftops–silently watching the cosmos for the signal to end mankind.

Nah, just kidding. It’ll be the cats that bring down the end of mankind.
